Shift_E's Quick Mission Tuner (QMT) for IL-2 Forgotten Battles
Updated 9
Oct 2004
- Shift_E's QMT is
no longer hosted at my site, as ShiftE has a new site
which can provide you with the latest QMT:
- Modifications to the
interaction between UQMG and QMT:
- Up to at least
version 1.1.1, QMT used to use the same type of
aircraft and weapons file as UQMG, however the
latest version does not support them, so you no
longer will be able to update QMT files from UQMG
(This was done when an add-on in UQMG was
available, then you could update QMT to be able
to handle new planes and weapons.). However,
ShiftE's site explains how to add new planes in
his site.
- QMT Support:
QMT is supported by Shift_E. If you would like to ask him
a question about QMT, please e-mail him at qmtsupport@verizon.net.
General
QMT Information
- Description:
QMT is a mission editor, specifically, a mission fine
tuner. It is not a mission generator like UQMG and FMB,
and to a lesser extent, QMB. Once you create a mission,
you can use QMT to make adjustments like skins, waypoint
parameters, weapons, etc. The upcoming version of QMT
depicted below will have many additional features.

- Shift_E's Quick Mission
Tuner (QMT) has impressed me so much that I asked him if
he would like to work on some minor integration. We have
accomplished some good things.
- QMT is a stand-alone
product. You can use it in conjunction with UQMG, or you
can use it as a completely separate utility after you
generate a mission with IL-2 FB's Full Mission Editor (FMB),
for example.
- To configure QMT within
UQMG, go to the UQMG "Tools" menu and choose
the QMT options. In UQMG, you will be able to aply the
changes in the single player mission to be duplicated
into the Coop mission, which is convenient for the player.
- After you create a mission
with UQMG, you can start QMT and use the following
features:
- NEW as of 1.1.1 -
Duplicate Flight (Think of Cloning in UQMG... but
if UQMG is not your cup of tea, or you just want
to fine tune your settings, here you go!!)
- Skin for all
aircraft in the mission
- Change weapons in
an aircraft - very useful for clone flights to
have different configs
- Assign player
aircraft to a clone flight
- Disable markings
- Make aircraft
available as AI only
- Fine tune mission
parameters like waypoints etc...
- Assign all aircraft
in a flight to have a particular skin.
- Change the type of
airplane in a flight - very useful if you want
clones of different types.
- Edit the briefing
of the mission.
- Full integration
with UQMG, meaning regardless of which is the
default directory in QMT, UQMG will be able to
launch QMT at the correct location where the UQMG
mission is, and only allowing you to edit the
current mission.
